I wonder if that which is likely to be weeded is that which might be in the
greatest need of preservation since the most popular material is likely to
be that which will survive by the redundancy explicit in the propagation of

I just wanted to reiterate this very concise and profound thought here.
This has had me thinking for hours.
There must be some other way? Do our colleagues in Europe, or any other
part of the world for that matter, have as little appreciation for collected
materials as we seem to have here in the US? Anyone have any experience
with this idea abroad?
