The Hemingway Western Studies Center at Boise State University is pleased to an
nounce winners in the first annual Artists' & Eccentric Book Competition. Nata
ional judges Martha Wilson, Ruth and Marvin Sackner, Judith Hoffberg and Gay Wa
lker, in concert with regional judges Cort Conley, Cheryl Shurtleff, Tom Trusky
, Brent Smith, Jacquie Crist and Driek Zirinsky have selected Greg Leichner of
Montana for his postcard series, CITIZENS FOR A POODLE-FREE MONTANA, and Sandra
Lopez of Oregon for her die cut accordion fold CLEAR CUT. Winners receive
$500 and publication in editions of 500 and 1,000 copies (offset), respectively
, and standard trade royalties
The 1995 Artists' & Eccentric Book Competition will consider publication pro
posals 1 September-1 December 1994. Books must be on public issues of special
interest to Rocky Mountain readers, be in multiple editions, generally cop
ier, silk screen or offset printed. For competition guidelines send an SASE to
