NYC Poetry Reading

Center for Book Arts
presents an evening of poetry with

Andrew Kaufman

whose poem "Cinnamon Bay Sonnets" won the Center for Book Arts' 1996 Poetry
Chapbook Competition, will read from this work, among others. In regard to
his Sonnets, the judges said, "We were impressed by Kaufman's use of a
language of extreme compression and a highly cadenced vernacular that moves
fluidly between moments of personal crisis and spiritual transcendence."

The chapbook was letterpress printed and bound at the Center in a limited
edition of 100 copies. It was designed by Barry Magid, the proprietor of
Dim Gray Bar Press, and printed under the direction of Russell Maret, the
Center's 1996 Aritst-in-Residence.
Signed copies of this limited edition book will be available at the
reading.

Also reading that night will be the judges for the 1996 Competition,
William Matthews and Sharon Dolin.

Friday, October 11; 7 pm

This reading is free and open to the public.
