Surely the Net-itself should be considered the ultimate archival system. A
single image or document may be stored on thousands of varied operating
systems/media worldwide for varying periods of time. The same file can
just as easily resurface and be restored years later -- an almost organic,
non-centralized, selection/regeneration/preservation process.
