Linda--That sounds OK to me. It is not a question of the validity of your
copyright, of course. What is at stake is being able to prove with
admissible evidence that you created the work by no later than a specific
time.  Your word, of course, is some evidence but butressed by recognized
business records it is much, much stronger.  Registered mail is sometimes
used. If you have an attorney, placing it with him/her and having a record
made will do it. If you get too complicated, however, it's easier and maybe
cheaper to simply register the copyright.
