Minnesota Center for Book Arts is the most comprehensive book arts center
in the nation.  Founded in 1985, MCBA is dedicated to preserving
traditional methods of creating books and advancing the book arts through
classes in papermaking, letterpress printing and handbinding, as well as
exhibitions, outreach activities and space for book artists to collaborate.

MCBA seeks an Executive Director to lead the staff, faculty, and volunteers
in providing quality programs that meet MCBA's mission and budget goals.
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, and will be
expected to provide personal leadership in fundraising and grant writing,
budget management, volunteer and artist empowerment, and creative
development of programs. This individual will encourage Board support
through regular communication and strategic review of the organization's
progress, as well as be an articulate spokesperson for MCBA, actively
developing relations with potential donors and peer institutions.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a
liberal arts discipline (master's degree preferred), at least five years of
administrative experience in a not-for-profit organization and at least
three years of budget and staff management experience; computer skills and
effective personal administrative skills, excellent capacity for strategic
thinking, and demonstrated ability to develop a collaborative team spirit
in a low-staff environment. References should be able to address directly a
candidates's ability to meet these qualifications.
