By the way, Center for Book Arts is still seeking an executive director. Founded in 1974, it is the original organization which many of the newer Centers have used as a prototype, across the USA and abroad. Located in downtown New York City, it is in the center of the world's largest community of artists. It has produced over 140 exhibitions, offers more than 100 classes and workshops in its education program, taught by a faculty of about 40 professional artists and artisans, and provides fully equipped studio facilities for rent by the hour, month or year.  Information about the Center's community outreach, lectures and conferences, competitions, apprenticeships, internships, work/study programs, artists in residence, publications, and the class schedule is available at
