Yes folks, you read about the workshop and now, you can mark your
calendars. Please attend the most exciting Summer Book Arts Event to occur
in NYC!

A slide lecture with Ewan Clayton & Ward Dunham IV

Scribes, and book-arts lovers; ladies and gentlemen. On Wednesday, July 16,
1997 at 6:30 p.m., you will have the rare pleasure of seeing a two-fisted
lecture about one of the most amazing changes in communication technology
since the invention of the codex! This collaborative lecture about the
Protogothic hands will change the way you think about the letters you read
and write!

Championing the Carolingian antecedents, Mr. Ewan Clayton, resident of
Great Britain will show us a multitude of examples of the letterforms that
led to our lower-case roman types.

And delineating the rough-and-tumble hands that gave rise to gothic forms,
Mr. Ward Dunham IV, coming all the way from San Francisco Bay, will
illuminate the apparent darkness of the gothic hand.

*** Grolier Club, 47 E. 60th St., on Wed., July 16, 1997 at 6:30 p.m. ****
IT'S FREE!!!!!
