letterpress class with Jim Trissel

Alicia McKim has taken it upon herself to organize a letterpress class with
Prof. Jim Trissel for us here in Colorado. We would like to invite anyone
from "away" to join us. Details below. There's a chance a ski area will
have opened by the time of the class, so maybe you could be the first on
your block to ski this season!

Alternative Letterpress Techniques
with Professor James Trissel, Colorado College

In this workshop, Jim will lecture and demonstrate on the press the many
innovative printing techniques he has developed. These techniques create a
new avenue for letterpress, moving it into the fine art aspect of printing.
James Trissel is a Professor of Art at the Colorado College and proprietor
of The Press at Colorado College. His work has been exhibited extensively
and is represented in every major printing collection in the United States.

Due to the content of this workshop, you MUST have a working knowledge of
letterpress printing.

Colorado Springs is about an hour's drive south of Denver, along the front
range of the Rocky Mountains. Spectacular scenery if you don't see
mountains that often. (We're jaded!). It is a city of 150,000 or so, and we
expect motel reservations will not be too difficult or expensive, although
if there is a football game at the Air Force Academy that weekend, it might
not be as easy. Colorado Springs has a respectable size airport, so you
might be able to fly directly there, rather than into Denver.
