FUTURE EVENTS TO WATCH FOR
22-24 April. 7th International Book Fair. Prague, Czechoslovakia. Feature:
The Beat Generation with Lawrence Ferlinghetti as honored guest.
10 - 15 June 1998: Art 29'98 International Art Fair at Basle.
Sue Ann Robinson in the COLA show at the Municipal Art Gallery in Barnsdall
Park, Los Angeles. She is one of 12 artists who have received a City of Los
Angeles Artist Grant, and she will be showing bookworks from 26 April - 21
Buzz Spector's book as a result of "Beautiful Scenes" show which opened in
February and will close at Cranbrook Art Museum in Michigan. The book is
part artist book, part catalog including 24 collages made for its pages from
photographs he had printed from vintage negatives in the Cranbrook Archives.
Included are 3 short essays, but more later.
Buzz Spector's book installation opening on 25 April at the Chicago
Book Arts Fair: 6 June 1998 sponsored by the Alliance for Contemporary Book
Arts in Los Angeles at Dawson's Book Shop. Fine press printers and book
artists will be on hand to show and sell their books. A reception will be
held 5 June at 7:30 p.m. to hear a talk by Gloria Stuart of the Imprenta
Glorias Press. Mark your Calendar to be at Dawson's Book Shop,535 No.
