SOTHEBY'S BOOK AUCTION (4/3/98)

     Sotheby's, of New York, NY has posted its
     first full on-line book auction catalogue,
     The Jaime Ortiz-Pati=F1o Collection of
     Important Books and Manuscripts (Sale 7119).
     This collection includes a number of early
     illuminated manuscripts including the
     unparalleled Cistercian "Arenberg Missal" and
     five exceptional "Books of Hours" (along with
     an additional three early printed examples);
     many early books, including the Fust &
     Schoeffer 1462 Latin bible, the fourth ever
     printed; many books printed on vellum, often
     with original paintings, numerous examples of
     nineteenth and twentieth century book
     illustration, along with a broad range of
     French literature at its best. 266 lots.

     The Directory lists member's addresses,

     is a geographical and a specialty index in

                          ALSO
     The 11th edition of the International
     Directory of Antiquarian Booksellers, Jubilee
     Edition is now for sale from the same office
     for US$34.00, including domestic shipping and
     handling. It is published every four years,
     lists all members (with addresses, etc.) from
     30 countries, 662+ pages, with index of
     specialties, index of names, hard cover. Send
