Re: movies about books

Don't forget Greenaway's epic "Prospero's Books" with John Gielgud as
This was the tail end of his earlier rauchier carnal style (1991). The
books are beautiful and his appreciation of them and images of words and
calligraphy are very apparent. It goes through the series of
sacred/alchemic books that Propero was abandoned with on his island of
exile. The book of water, The book of time, the book of color, the book
of evil....
The Pillow Book was supposedly his "commercial venture", if that gives
you any idea, so if you are ready to attempt Prospero set aside a good
chunk of patient time and enjoy the ride! Well worth it for
bibliophiles, but definitely not for the action-adventure crowd.
