Re: Foam wedge book supports

Dear Mr. Kellar,

A month ago there was a discussion about the Clarkson book rests on Exlibris
rare book list.
Dr Lydia Ferguson from the Trinity College, Dublin, asks if someone had an
alternative to these book rests, because they used it for nine years and now
they are frayed and need to be replaced, but the Safety Officer "has vetoed
foam rests because they would constitute a considerable hazard in the event
of a fire."

Someone who worked at the New York Public Library says that they used a
different kind of foam, made by the conservation laboratory of the Library.

I hope this information could help you in some way.
