PUBLIC LECTURE AT SAN FRANCISCO PUBLIC LIBRARY
Hatch Show Print: A Lecture by Jim Sherraden
SAN FRANCISCO--Pacific Center for the Book Arts presents a public lecture
by Jim Sherraden of Hatch Show Print, Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Sherraden
will speak at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 6, 1998, in the Koret Auditorium,
San Francisco Public Library, Main Branch, Civic Center. All programs at the
Public Library are free.
Jim Sherraden is manager of Hatch Show Print, printers for the country music
industry since 1879. The letterpress posters, cards, invitations, etc.,
designed and printed by Mr. Sherraden and his printers continue to delight
fans of printing and country music both. The vivid colors, woodcuts, and
varied type characteristic of Hatch Show Print call us out to the Grand Ole
Opry or to buy some Graves Whole Hog Sausage. The work of Hatch Show Print
was most recently seen in the Bay Area in "Makeready: Unexpected Art", an
exhibit held early this year at the San Francisco Center for the Book.
The lecture is sponsored by the Pacific Center for the Book Arts and the
Book Arts and Special Collections Center of the San Francisco Public Library.
