QUERY: adhesives for paper to wood surfaces

Can members speak about adhesives that work to attach paper to wood?  This
is for the purpose of making wooden jigsaw puzzles using old lithos.
Generally, the wood is 3-5 ply laminated mahogany or other fine wood.  What
are the archival issues at stake here?  Most puzzle cutters I know seem to
have little information or interest in archival properties of the materials
they use.  Also interested in attaching very shear Japanese woodblock prints
to wooden laminate for the same purpose.  Thanks for any thoughts you might
