Lower the river, not raise the bridge.

One idea you might consider is to make a duplicate of the original and
place it on the inside front cover.

Two methods are (1) make a photo copy, color if it need be: or (2) use
an image scanner to generate a computer image to be printed, in color if
it need be.

In any case you might want to make the images prior to attempting
removable so you can replace it with the image if the removal process
destroys the bookplate.
