Another structure you may wish to consider is a crossed structure binding (you
could use heavy leather or suede, or a handmade paper) with individually sewn
signatures that can be slipped on and off of the crossed structure's
"fingers".  You can reference this structure in the Journal of Designer
Bookbinders, The New Bookbinder, Vol 14, 1994 in the article by Carmencho
Arregui, pages 101-107.
