Re: Exhibition

Please announce:

"The Artist Books of Turkey Press" will be on display from July 14 to
August 14, 1999 at Julie Cencebaugh Gallery, 601 W. 26th St., 14th Floor,
New York, NY 10001 (212) 352-0019. Gallery hours are noon to six pm,
Tuesday through Saturday. An opening reception will be held from 6 to 8
pm, on July 14, with the artist/publishers in attendance.

As publishers of poetry, prints, and book art in limited editions, Harry
and Sandra Liddell Reese set type by hand, print with hand presses, and
produce art projects that feature their own hand papermaking, traditional
and experimental printmaking, edition binding, innovative book structures,
and collaborations with poets, artists, writers, and thinkers. Its
publications are collected by many major museums and libraries in the
United States and Europe, and its archives were acquired by the J. Paul
Getty Center for the History of Art and the Humanities (now the Getty
Research Institute) in 1992. Two years earlier, they created another
imprint, Edition Reese, to produce artists' publications in limited
editions. Harry Reese is a Professor of Art and Chair of the Department of
Art Studio at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

This exhibit is part of "The Rocket Four" exhibition series that will take
place over the next few years, in which the collaborative work of four
presses---Kaldewey Press (New York), Limestone Press (Tampa), Arte Dos
Graphico (Bogota), and Turkey Press (Isla Vista, CA)---will be shown at a
number of locations in the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America.
