Call for Artists

1st International Edible Book Tea
at The Center for Book Arts
April 1, 2000
4:30 - 7:00 pm

The Center is sponsoring The 1st International Edible Book Tea on Saturday
April 1, 2000. For this High/Low Tea, all works of art will be edible and
have something to do with books! From 4:30 to 5:30 pm you will sip High/Low
tea while viewing the edible exhibit. At 5:30 pm, the works will be
photographed, sold, and eaten. This event will serve as a fund raiser for
the Center, as well as providing an opportunity to explore the book form in
an entirely new medium.

Two copies of each participant's menu will be laminated and preserved. The
pictures of the books and menus will be sent to the Central Archive in Santa
Monica : Umbrella, P. O. Box 3640, Santa Monica, CA 90408. A description
and links of all participants around the world will be available at
Books2Eat's website: http://www.geocities.com/books2eat/.

Winning entries will receive free admission to the tea.

Submission Requirements: Please submit a written or visual description of a
book that will be made for this event. Books must be edible, and ready to
be eaten at the end of the event. All works must be brought to the Center
