Pop-up Paper Structures Workshop

There are a few spaces available for Carol Barton's workshop on Pop-up Paper S
tructures, sponsored by Boston Book Arts. We will run one full-day (10-4)
workshop on Saturday, April 1st and another one on Sunday, April 2nd. The
workshops will take place at the Arlington Center for the Arts at 41 Foster
St., Arlington, MA.
There is a limit of 12 students per class, and the cost for the day is $50
for members and $60 for nonmembers.

A special kind of creative magic awaits you in this workshop. You will learn
basic on-the-fold pop-up structures, then progress through a series of more
complicated three-dimensional constructions. These can be included in book
formats or work alone as cards or paper sculptures. A slide presentation on
movable books will be included.

As many of you know, Carol Barton is a book artist, curator and arts
administrator. She is a faculty member at the University of the Arts in
Philadelphia, and her work is exhibited internationally and is included in
numerous museum collections. She curated the exhibition Science and the
Artist's Book for the Smithsonian Institution.
