Re: Making lipped clam-shell boxes

Can the group advise any simple, detailed and accurate designs for lipped
clam-shell boxes?

We have been using Marilyn Webberley's Books, Boxes and Wraps, and also
Franz Zeier's Books, Boxes and Portfolios. Marilyn Webberley's book is
quite good, with many examples discussed with precision, areas not covered
by other texts with which we are familiar, such as the tolerances for cloth
thicknesses, and techniques for covering boxes, etc.

There are different ways to make these boxes. As the clam-shell is a
favourite of the Library of Congress (and in fact of many libraries), does
the group know which design they use, a design which is probably simple!

Thank you for your contributions.

Peter N. Krantz.
