MCBA in new home

Friends,
On Tuesday, April 11 Minnesota Center for Book Arts will open the doors to
its new home as part of the Open Book building. As a result of the move,
MCBA will nearly double its space, making it the country's largest, most
comprehensive center of its kind--a workshop, classroom, gallery, archive
and retail store all in one. Visitors can watch various aspects of
bookmaking in progress and MCBA wil continue to offer a variety of programs
from youth tours to lectures to classes in bookbinding, papermaking and
letterpress printing. Book artists of all abilities can participate in
MCBA's Tuesday night Open Studio or rent studio space.

The two other major tenants of Open Book are The Loft Literary Center and
Milkweed Press. A coffeehouse and a bookstore are also scheduled to open
soon in the building. Open Book provides a creative environment for
writers, readers, artists and publishers to work together, along with
financial stability for the 3 main tenants and future opportunities for
collaboration.

You can find MCBA at its new location:
1011 Washington Avenue South
Minneapolis, MN 55415
612/338-3634

For more information about Open Book and the collaboration, you can go to
its website:

And most important, the next time you're in the Twin Cities, come visit!
