Re: paper selection for journals

If you like variety, Hannemuhl Bugra makes a beautiful journal paper and
comes in several gorgeous colors. I like to fold the large sheets (apx
30x40") down into folios and then coptic bind, harmonizing colors in thread
choice, writing paper, end sheets and cover paper. The results can be really
stunning. Bugra is a great paper with a slight tooth, good opacity and
wearing capacity, plus folds great and is strong enough to withstand the open
stitching without tears. It's a little pricey, but one sheet makes a decent
sized journal. Barbara Harman
