Dear Book Artists:

   The Center for Book and Paper Arts at Columbia College Chicago
invites you to apply to exhibit at the First Annual "Festival of the
Book." This year, the festival is to open with a reception for the Rare
Book and Manuscript Section of the American Library Association hosted
by the ABAA (Antiquarian Book-
sellers Association of America) on Friday, July 7. On Saturday, July 8
the fair will be open to the general public and special guests will
include the members of the Caxton Club, Friends of the Newberry, Ryerson
& Burnham, and the Field Museum Libraries, and several other groups.

   Exhibitors invited to participate will include rare book dealers,
book artists, fine presses and dealers in maps. In addition, the Center
for Book and Paper Arts will be holding demonstrations of various book
arts, including papermaking, letterpress, and bookbinding.

   The Festival will be held Friday, July 7 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and
Saturday, July 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Center for Book and
Paper Arts beautiful brand new space. It will be open only to members of
the  RBMS (approximately 300) on Friday. An minimal admission will be
charged on Saturday and the proceeds will be donated to the Center.

 Four types of booth space will be available.
  A three table cluster for $375.
  A two table cluster for $250.
  A single table for $125.
  For book artists showing their own work, a booth consisting of one
table will cost $100. Joint    tables are permitted in this category.

   As the individual booths will vary, any exhibits (including
bookcases) that do not fit on a 6'x 30" table need to be approved in
advance. Please contact us if you have any questions about space. A
diagram of any booth larger than a single table will be provided when
your confirmation is confirmed.
