Positions Available at CBA

The Center for Book Arts is seeking applicants for the positions of
Education Director and Executive Director. Both positions require knowledge
of the field and administrative experience.

The Education Director is responsible for organizing and distributing a
schedule of approximately 100 courses annually, as well as lecures and other
educational programs, and for ensuring that the facilities are prepared for
classes as they occur. There are a lot of responsibilities, and the
successful applicant will know who's who and what's what in the field of
Book Art. This includes Printing, Binding, Design and Typography, Artists'
Books, Sculptural Bookworks, Small and Fine Press Publishing, etc.

The Executive Director is the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for
the overall management of the Center, its programs and its development. The
successful candidate will have experience managing a small not-for-profit
organization and will have a general knowledge of the field of Book Art.
Experience in program-oriented fund raising is essential.

The Center has recently completed acquisition of a 5,000 sq. ft. floor at 28
West 27th Street in New York City. Founded in 1974, it was the first
organization of its kind. During its first 25 years it produced over 140
exhibitions, and has maintained the mission of presenting exhibitions and
classes in the context of the working artists' studio.
