The Press of Appletree Alley has the following aims:
the achievement of a highly professional standard of craftsmanship; the
creation of imaginative, distinctive designs; and the exploration of
production methods. The establishment of this private press has realized
the dream of placing in print fine writings not commonly available, in a
style which enhances the intent of the authors.

Each Press of Appletree Alley limited edition is produced in the
time-honored fine press tradition. The type is set and the printing is
accomplished all by hand. Each volume is hand bound by master book binder
Don Rash. Our process, which utilizes letterpress equipment exclusively,
creates a particular harmony between print and paper. The illustrations
necessarily require relief printing. Most take the form of wood engravings,
woodcuts or linoleum cuts. Each volume is a vehicle of both artistic and
literary expression. The Press of Appletree Alley is proud to present
editions of lasting quality.
