Gros Morne Time Lines

Gros Morne Time Lines is a collaboration of Kevin Major, Anne Meredith
Barry, and Tara Bryan, all of whom live in Newfoundland and have spent time
on the west coast of the island in this National Park and UNESCO World
Heritage Site. A millennium project, the text is a 1000-word history of the
area in reverse chronological order written by Kevin Major. Anne Meredith
Barry's colorful linocut images and cuts made from her line drawings
accompany the text in a concertina format. The letterpress printing, book
design and binding were dona by Tara Bryan at walking bird press. Inset in
the book cover is a polished piece of 500 million year old peridotite from
the Tablelands, a slab of the Earth's mantle which was shoved ashore during
continental drift, the presence of which is the reason for the park's
UNESCO status.
The cover and wrapper are Asahi book cloth, and the closures are caribou
bone clasps, produce especially for this book. The edition is 65 copies,
and the introductory price is CN$900 (US$600) plus applicable taxes and
