Nicholas Baker article in New Yorker

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Just calling folk's attention to an excellent article
by Nicholas Baker on the destruction of the world's newspapers once they
have been microfilmed in the July 24 <i>New Yorker</i> . He set up a foundation
to buy and preserve the papers themselves in response to the British Library's
decision to deaccession its collection.
<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; There's a quote from Peter Waters in the article
and on the whole it echoes the points Mr. Waters made in his lecture at
Bookbinding 2000.
