On Wednesday, September 20, 2000 at 6:00 pm, the San Francisco Center for
the Book will honor the memory of one of San Francisco's legendary printers
and scholars, Adrian Wilson, and welcome our new Vandercook 219, once a
fixture at Adrian's Press in Tuscany Alley. This press, along with type
(Centaur, Michelangelo, Palatino) and other pressroom accoutrements was
donated to the Center. There will be a complimentary keepsake printed for
the occasion, and several of those people who knew Adrian and worked with
him at the press will be present and perhaps share an anecdote or two.
Please come and join the festivities. The Center is at 300 DeHaro Street
(between 16th and 17th) at the foot of Potrero Hill. For more information,
please call (415) 565-0545.
