talk by artist Horatio Law, Portland, Oregon

Hi all,

I know there're some printmakers and photographers on this list, so I think
(hope) this is appropriate --

Artist Horatio Law (printmaking/photography) and Mt. Hood National Forest
Service Community Liaison Bill Otani will talk about Chinese historical
sites from artistic and historic perspectives, in Portland, Oregon.

***** In brief:

Fri, Oct 20th, 6pm, talk by Horatio and Bill, dinner at 7pm ($15.00 dinner)
Sat, Oct 21st, field trip lead by Bill Otani ($27.00, includes all
transportation, talks, lunch, and museum admissions)

Please call Northwest China Council at 503.973.5451 to reserve a place for
one or both events.

Friday's talk and dinner will be at Good Day Restaurant, 312 NW Couch,

The itenarary for Saturday is as follows:

Visit to the Mt. Hood Historical Society -- a talk by society member about
her personal family history in the Hood River valley.

Visit to the Discovery Center at The Dalles.

Lunch at the House of Chin -- the restaurant owner will give a talk about
her personal family history in the region, as well as tell stories that she
has heard from her customers.

Visit to the Rock Wall at The Dalles -- as weather allows.  The wall was
constructed by Chinese laborers clearing the land for pasture.

Mushroom hunt -- as weather allows.  Otherwise, a visit to Skamania Lodge.

Please call the Northwest China Council for meeting time and place for the
field trip.
