Position Announcement


About the Position:
The Lower East Side Printshop seeks a part-time Programs
Administrator.  Program areas include: keyholders, studio rental,
residencies, Special Editions Fellowship Program, evening classes, =
Series, exhibitions, art in education, and New York Prints =
program.  This position is responsible for administering and =
the programs, maintaining registration, collection and contacts =
programs publicity.  Candidate should have some organizational and
administrative experience; interest in, or familiarity with =
printmaking and
contemporary arts; and good computer and communications skills.  The
Programs Administrator will work with artistic staff, instructors, =
artists, interns, and the outside community, including curators,
collectors, art professionals and the general public.  Programs
Administrator reports directly to the Executive Director.

About the Organization:
Lower East Side Printshop is a community based, not-for-profit =
workshop dedicated to fostering and promoting the art of printmaking =
1968.  The Printshop provides 24-hour studio access for artists who =
wish to
explore printmaking, educational and career opportunities, financial =
technical assistance, and a range of education opportunities for the
general public including school-age children.  Artworks produced and
published at the Printshop have been included in major museum =
such as The Brooklyn Museum of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, =
Museum of
Modern Art, New York Public Library, Walker Arts Center, etc.  The
Printshop maintains an archive collection of prints, an up-to-date =
http://printshop.org, it publishes a newsletter three times annually, =
it documents its new projects in catalogues.  Each year, the =
serves 80 artists, 160 participants in evening classes, 500 public =
students, 900 visitors to public lectures and events, and reaches an
audience of 3,000 nationwide and internationally.

QuickBooks Pro, or similar programs
=B7       Ability to work independently and as part of a team
=B7       Interest in, and familiarity with contemporary arts

Responsibilities include:
=B7       Participate in planning and implementation of artist =
workspace and
education outreach programs
=B7       Administer the programs:
Scheduling, preparing contracts, evaluation, billing, registration,
documentation, etc.
=B7       Market and advertise programs and services
=B7       Prepare public and fundraising events
=B7       Handle phones, mail, and answer inquiries about programs =
and services
=B7       Help with fundraising
=B7       Participate in other activities and new initiatives such as
long-range planning, web site updates, etc.
=B7       Recruit and supervise interns
=B7       General office upkeep and maintenance

Hours: 32 hours per week
Salary: lower 20=92s, commensurate with skills and experience
Starting: immediately
