Over 70 handmade artists books are on display at the 4th annual juried BOOK
EXPLORATIONS  exhibit sponsored by The New Art Forum  at the Yankee Barn
Gallery in Kingston, Massachusetts.  Anne Anninger, former curator of artists'
books at Harvard University's Houghton Library and  artist Lilias Cingolani,
coordinator for The New Art Forum, served as jurors.

Top awards:

First Place for Excellence in Artistic Creativity  ($100) to:
    Susan Angebranndt of San Mateo, California

First Place for Excellence in Structure, Imagery and Content ($100)  To:
    Nancy J. Callahan of Gilbertsville, New York

First Place for Excellence in the Printed Book  ($100)  to:
    Students of Kitty Maryatt at Scripps Institute, California

The exhibit may still be seen 1 to 4 pm, April 28 and 29.

The theme for BOOK EXPLORATIONS  2002:  "Images of Prose & Poetry".
