Re: Book arts in northern Italy

In Venice, there are several wonderful shops selling hand printed or marbled
papers which might be of interest. Also, in Venice, you may want to check
out the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica. They are a printmaking and studio
arts school who also offer courses in Book Arts. They may have a show up
during the time of your visit.
If you make it down south a bit, the Univ. of Georgia program in Cortona is
running a Book and Print Symposium at the end of May and will have several
panel presentations, demonstrations and exhibits related to Book arts.
Lastly, in Florence during the last week of May there is a conference on the
"Book and the City" dealing with the history of manuscripts and books in the
cultural, spiritual and economic life of Florence.
