In response to Vanessa's inquiry about book-related sites in Guatemala, I
happened upon the Museo del Libro Antiguo (Old Book Museum) last summer in
Antigua. It has as an impressive collection of early Guatemalan imprints
on display. There are some rotating exhibits as well--last July they
featured an exhibit of colonial university diplomas. The museum is located
in the house where the first printer of Guatemala was established in 1660,
on the main square of Antigua, adjacent to the old cathedral. (It's easy
to find.)
