Conference on K-12 Book Arts Curriculum

National Conference and Exhgibition on K-12 Book Arts Curriculum

The Center for Book Arts is planning a conference to be held in New York
City in the fall of 2002. It is in the early planning stages, and input
is sought from members of the Book_Arts-l who have experience teaching
K-12 workshops in schools or art centers, developing curricula,
administering programs, or have participated in artists-in-the schools

Organizations interested in co-sponsoring the event are encouraged to
join an organizing committee.

Organizations, businesses and individuals who are interested in renting
space to present their products and services are also welcome to make
early contact.

An application was submitted to the National Endowment for the Arts Arts
Learning Program for this conference and an associated exhibition of
K-12 student work, but the decision on this round of funding will not be
announced until March, 2002. The Center is also submitting grant
applications to foundations and other government and corporate funding
sources. Individual contributions of money, services and products are
also welcome.

If you have a proposal for a paper, suggestion for a panel or roundtable
discussion, pilot or demonstration project that can be presented as a
workshop, or wish to participate in planning or funding, please e-mail
me off-list at this address:
