A Lecture at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, July 13, 7-8 pm


Artist, Emily Martin, of Iowa City, Iowa will present a slide lecture on he=
r
book forms, particularly the diverse sculptural formats, which allow her to
dimensionally display her ideas.  The lecture will take place on Friday,
July 13 from 7-8 pm in the Dayton=B9s Performance Hall on the second floor of
Open Book, 1011 Washington Ave. S., Minneapolis. This event is free and ope=
n
to the public.

Martin has been making artists books since the late 70=B9s. She has books in
public and private collections throughout the United States, Europe and
Australia, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; The Museum o=
f
Contemporary Art, Chicago; and The Tate Gallery, London. She teaches for th=
e
University of Iowa Center for the Book and in workshops across the country.
In 1996, Martin began the Naughty Dog Press, named after her dog and studio
companion, Gomez.
