Grolier Club Exhibitions Coordinator

The Grolier Club, America's oldest bibliophile society, seeks an =
energetic,
outgoing, and highly organized person to coordinate and help develop =
its
active program of book exhibitions. =20

Duties include registration of loan materials, as well as processing of
insurance and transportation forms; advising exhibition curators;
coordinating tours, lectures, symposia and other educational outreach
programs; editing catalogue texts, press releases and label copy;
supervising volunteers and part-time help in exhibition preparation and
set-up; assist in planning events connected with exhibitions.=20

Requirements include a BA degree in the humanities; 3-5 years =
professional
experience with rare books or research collections in a museum, =
library,
historical society, or in the antiquarian book trade; outstanding oral =
and
written communications skills; knowledge of one or more modern Western
European languages; and computer expertise, including standard
word-processing programs.  An advanced degree in the humanities is
desirable, as is coursework or experience in the conservation of books =
and
works on paper. Compensation package includes 15 days paid vacation,
retirement plan through TIAA/CREF, and comprehensive health/dental =
care.
Salary from $40,000, depending on experience.
