Images were often stored on stones right-reading. They were transfered
to plates or printing stones by using a flatbed offset press.--Two flat
beds--one for original, second for plate,  The stone is inked, the image
transferred to a blanket-covered cylinder they transferred (offset) to
the plate or second stone.
