See The Exhibition Online, And Order Your Catalog.

The Third Annual Edible Book/High Low Tea is again upon us on 1 April or 31
March 2002! Spain to join this year!

The International Edible Book Festival is a yearly event on April 1
throughout the world from 2-4 p.m. (depending upon time zone). The edible
books are exhibited and, at 4 p.m., tea and/or coffee is served and
the, books are consumed. For this High/Low tea, all works of art must be
edible and have something to do with books! Each participating group or
individual is responsible for its/his/her own audience and website. From 2-4
p.m., you sip High/Low Tea while viewing the edible exhibit. At 4 p.m., you
photograph the work and eat it too.

All venues are requested to take photographs or record in video their event
and displayed books. Please send copies of two menus and photographs to this
address: Umbrella, P.O. Box 3640, Santa Monica, CA 90408.The documentation
will be used for a potential (non-edible) book by Umbrella Editions. A
description and links of all participants around the world will be available
at Books2Eat.

Tickets could be sold for the event; each venue can thus use Books2Eat as a
fundraiser for book centers and organizations. For documentation and images
of the First International Edible Book Festival, please visit the 2000 and
2001Festival at

Initiated by Judith A. Hoffberg over a Thanksgiving turkey with book artists
in 1999, the Edible Book High/Low Tea has become a sensation and will
probably make radio and TV in 2002! Look for the website at created by
Beatrice Coron ( who was a catalyst for making this a worldwide event!

For Los Angeles artists, the event will be held at the Weingart Center for
the Arts , located on Bird Road on Occidental College Campus. Artists or
interested creative people are asked to bring their edible books and set
up between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. with each work accompanied by
a label stating the name of the artist, the title of the edible book, and
ingredients! Anyone with digital cameras and other documentation cameras
are welcomed to take photos for the archive, as well as a forthcoming book
on the event!
