The Northern California Chapter of the American Printing History
Association is pleased to announce "Summer in the City," on June 8,
featuring two events: one at 10:30 AM at the California Historical Society,
North Baker Research Library, 678 Mission Street, San Francisco; and the
second at 1:00 PM San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, 151 Third Street, San
Francisco.

At the California Historical Society, APHA members will receive a tour of
the Kemble Collection on Western Printing and Publishing. Members will then
be able to view the current exhibition.

At the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Printer-typographer Jack
Stauffacher, will take members on a walk-through of his show "25 prints, "
an exhibition of 25 experimental typographic prints from MOMA's permanent
collection. Please note that APHA members should try to arrive together to
take advantage of MOMA's group admission rate.

Note that APHA NoCal's Jack Stauffacher has been selected this year's
speaker for APHA's Lieberman Memorial Lecture. He will be in conversation
with type designer Matthew Carter on Thursday, October 24, 2002 at the
Getty Center, Los Angeles. APHA NorCal plans to be there to cheer our
home-town hero. Please join us!

More information about the APHA Northern California event (including a
flyer and directions) is available online at
