[BKARTS] Technical Books

Dear Alice Hughes:

I thought it was neat that I was able to provide you with some reading
material--from my website--while you were at the cottage. As far as the hail
you predicted in my city--maybe we got it. I was pretty dead to the world
the other night for some reason when it might have occurred. I always enjoy
feedback on energy science topics. I like to find out what everyone is
interested in partly because I am writing a book. I wince when I read about
people coming in to your bookstore and snorting "Obsolete" then pitch the
book. My goal is to rewrite my book(s) every year. Hopefully this will keep
things up to date. Now if I could just dream up the recipe for a most
tantalizing technical book. Maybe I will have to "bake" a batch and get some
people to taste them.

Hi - found you delightful website yesterday when I was moithering about =
Alberta's Ralph Klein and the Kyoto Accord. It was a breath of fresh air =
on a very muggy day when we'd decamped to the cottage where there's no =
need for air-conditioning. Have been considering Ballard as a possible =
investment as the stock market dives, but in the meantime will continue =
to put my money in books.
It's a bit like playing the horses but if I lose, I can always read - =
when we first opened the bookstore we hoped to specialize in early =
technology (all of the books listed in the Whole Earth Catalogue) =
however most people look at that early material and snort "Obsolete"... =
then pitch it.
It's delightful stuff and when we do find it regard it as a treasure - =
however always looking at the future am enthusiastic over solar, fuel =
cells, etc.
At the same time always checking out small affordable environmentally =
friendly building sites as I have to replace our Trout Cabin that the =
porcupines 'did in'. Have a great long weekend in Coquitlam, with Hail =
tonight?? according to the www.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca that I just =
discovered - what a great resource.=20
But I seem to remember that Hail on the prairies meant you could make =
ice-cream. In any case take care. Alice

PS I took bookbinding from Hubert Leur for 3 years, loved every minute =
of it - like stepping back in time.
and that's how I discovered Book_Arts.
