Re: [BKARTS] Southern California event reminder

Miriam Schaer, Brooklyn-based book artist, will be giving a lecture at
Beverly Hills Public Library on Wednesday 21 August at 7:30 p.m., sponsored
by the Artist Book Circle and the Palisades Workshops. Ms. Schaer will be
speaking on The Book as Personal Adornment: Wearable Books and Texts, a talk
which traces Schaer's connection and inspiration from historic book
structures and book-like ornaments from around the world that demonstrate
and explore this concept. She will be showing work from contemporary artists
in slides, but will also be presenting actual work that she has created over
the years. This is a rare treat for the whole artist book community.

Samples of her work can be seen online at

The lecture is free and the address is 444 N. Rexford Dr., Beverly Hills, CA
90210. Parking is available either in the BH Civic Center parking structure
or public parking north of the library. Refreshments will be served before
the lecture. Why not come early and socialize with your book artist
colleagues and collectors too. Bring a friend.
