 A THIEF AMONG THE ANGELS:

Barry Moser and the Making of the Pennyroyal Caxton Bible

A Documentary by Doug and Jason Kessler (KesslerCo@aol.com)

A Thief Among The Angels: The Making of the Pennyroyal Caxton Bible is a quirky, funny, insightful portrait of a remarkable man and his monumental project. Barry Moser, America's foremost book artist and illustrator, has climbed his Everest: the making of an impeccably- illustrated limited-edition Bible. We watch Moser, a former fundamentalist preacher, as he confronts the devils and angels that reside in the central text of Western civilization. In his collaborative efforts with top type designers, printers and bookbinders, all joined together in their effort to create something that is more than the sum of its parts, Moser has produced a Bible with engravings that haunt and inspire.
