[BKARTS] 1915 Book I bought for 5GBP

I found a book, printed in 1915, Oscarina by Oscar Wilde. The book,
when opened, has a folded piece of paper inside the
binding. The first page is a page that is folded. Does anyone know why
this was done in this way? It's printed in London.
