Hello --

On behalf of the coordinators of this year's annual meeting of the Friends of
Dard Hunter, I want to let you all know that September 15th (Sunday) is the
postmark deadline for registering for the meeting at the early registration
rate of $130. After that date, the rate goes up to $145. There are also
student and day rates (no deadlines for those) and scholarships are available.

Here's a partial line-up of presenters:

Lynn Amlie: The Ergonomics of Hand Papermaking,
Cindy Bowden: Update from the American Museum of Papermaking,
Patrece Canoy: Weaving & Paper: Incorporating Paper Pulp with Sculptural
Weaving,
Tara Christopherson: Internally Sized, Handmade Watercolor Papers,
Amanda Degener: Working Dimensionally with Handmade Paper,
Peter Hopkins: Blenders vs Beaters ? Class Warfare?,
Elaine Koretsky: Ten Seconds to Ten Minutes: A Presentation of Sheet
Forming Techniques Around the World,

There will also be pre-conference tours, a fabulous auction, a banquet,
bowling (!), and trips to book-and-paper--related sites in Portland.

More information and registration materials can be found at the group's
web-site: www.bookarts.ua.edu/dardo.html or you can contact VP of Annual
Meetings Rudy Kovacs (kovarudo@isu.edu) or Executive Director (and one of
this year's site hosts) Betsy Cluff (instar@teleport.com).

It only comes around once a year. Don't miss it.

thanks

Michael Durgin
