Re: [BKARTS] Leather alternatives

For some years now I have been using Tim Barrett's paper-case paper
in lieu of leather when rebacking some pre-1800 books. It dyes well,
takes a nice burnish with a bit-O-wax, and can be damped and formed
over raised cords.

I believe that it will last longer that current veg. tanned leather.

Don't use sized paper, as it will not work down as well as unsized
paper. After it is in place and stable (dry) work in some gelatin
before waxing.
