[BKARTS] Tsugio Yanai Lecture at Book & Paper

Tsugio Yanai Lecture at Book & Paper

Tsugio Yanai

Friday, October 25, 6:30-8:30

We here at the Book & Paper Center are very proud to be able to present to you a
lecture by Tsugio Yanai. Mr. Yanai is a sculptural
paper maker from Nakatomi, Japan, a town in the Yamaguchi Prefecture. He is a
craftsman known for his washi traditional Japanese
papermaking; he has extended this tradition to make work that is distinctly
contemporary. His work "Relics," twenty washi busts of
people representing the twentieth century, will be shown at SOFA this year. This
will be the first presentation of his work in America.
Diane Neptune will be translating.

All Center lectures are free and open to the public.
