Re: [BKARTS] help with a student project

Regarding making books with children. Please note that children do not
grasp the need for margins! I've taught book arts to primary through high
school age and getting them to leave enough space on the binding edge of the
text is a real challenge. They tend to write, and especially draw, right to
the very edge of the paper. Drawing a 1 or 2 inch margin on the side of the
page that is to be bound helps, but even then they will go right up to and
over that line. The reward of making their own book is well worth all the
work that goes into the project, and the students will treasure a book they
made "all by themselves".

Happy bookmaking,
