Leather by nature is slightly acidic. Check with J. Hewit & Sons about
possible buffers for acidic leather. You may also consult Harmatan Leather.
Both of these companies are on the web.

For light grease stains, try white mineral spirits. Test a small area first
to see if the color is affected after it dries.

You might also try Novex Book Cleaning Gel.
