[BKARTS] Inventing in Color

There was a nice article in the Westchester County paper, The Journal News, today about Inventing In Color, the show of handmade books by African-American artists paying tribute to black inventors. There was a small color photo on the front page and a large color photo on the first page of the second section. The link is:

The exhibition has proved to be so popular that the show scheduled for March has been postponed and this show extended. A bookmaking contest for young people added has been added with a treasury of prizes gathered for those who participate.

It is hoped that this show will lead to other African-American artists creating books that can be included in future versions of Inventing In Color. Libraries, art institutions, and book arts organizations are encouraged to host this imaginative and powerful show.

Ruth Edwards is handling all the details. She is not an e-mail kind of person. If you contact me off list we'll find a way to make contact with her.

A sampling of the books from this show can be viewed at www.artistbooks.com/color/inventing.htm
